- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information via our contact/quote form;

The Site may use third-party tools (including Google Analytics, Akismet, and Cloudflare Turnstile) as described in our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the practices or content of any third-party service or website linked from our Site.
A6. Website Disclaimer
While we take reasonable care to keep the Site accurate and up to date, we make no warranties or representations that the Site will be error-free, uninterrupted, or secure. We accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site, except where such liability cannot be excluded under South African law.
PART B: TERMS OF SERVICE FOR VEHICLE SERVICING AND REPAIRS
B1. Application
These terms apply whenever you request a quote, leave your vehicle with us, or otherwise engage Alan Edwards Motors CC to perform servicing, repairs, or related work (“Services”). By requesting a quote or authorising work, you accept these terms.
B2. Quotes
- All quotes are estimates only, based on the information and initial diagnosis available at the time.
- Quotes are valid for 7 days from the date issued. After this period, we reserve the right to review and adjust pricing before confirming the quote.
- If, once work has commenced, we identify additional faults or work required that were not part of the original quote, we will contact you to inform you of the revised cost and scope before proceeding further. We will never carry out repairs beyond the originally authorised scope without your consent.
B3. Authorisation and Payment
- We will not carry out any repairs without your authorisation.
- No deposit is required for standard servicing or repair work. For larger jobs (e.g., major repairs, expensive parts, or extended work), we may, at our discretion, require a deposit before commencing work, which will be communicated to you upfront.
- Payment in full is due on completion of work, before the vehicle is collected, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- We accept cash, EFT, and credit card payments.
B4. Cancellation
If you authorise work and subsequently cancel or withdraw authorisation before completion, you agree to pay for:
- All labour and diagnostic work already performed up to the point of cancellation; and
- Any reasonable costs necessary to restore the vehicle to the condition it was in when received (or as close as reasonably possible), where the vehicle has been partially disassembled or work partially completed.
B5. Vehicles Left in Our Care
- While your vehicle is in our care, custody, and control, we maintain insurance covering our premises and operations.
- Notwithstanding such insurance, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, Alan Edwards Motors CC does not accept liability for any loss, theft, or damage to your vehicle, or to any items left inside it, while it is on our premises or in our care, except where such loss or damage arises directly from our gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
- We strongly recommend you remove all personal belongings and valuables from your vehicle before leaving it with us.
B6. Right of Retention (Lien)
We reserve the right to retain possession of your vehicle until payment in full has been received for all work authorised and performed, in accordance with our common-law right of retention (lien) over goods in our possession pending payment.
B7. Uncollected Vehicles
Once we notify you that your vehicle is ready for collection, please arrange collection promptly. We reserve the right to charge reasonable storage costs for vehicles not collected within a reasonable period after notification, at a rate to be communicated to you at the time.
B8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by the CPA and other applicable law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss (such as loss of income or loss of use of your vehicle) arising from any delay, defect, or issue with the Services;
- Our total liability for any claim arising from the Services is limited to the value of the invoice for the Services in question, except in cases of gross negligence, fraud, or where liability cannot lawfully be limited.
B10. Compliance with Consumer Protection Act
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude, limit, or waive any right or protection afforded to you as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008, to the extent that such rights cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
PART C: GENERAL
C1. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the applicable South African courts, with the parties agreeing that the courts of the Western Cape shall have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any other jurisdiction such courts may have.
C2. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Continued use of our Site or our Services after changes are published constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
